How it works

From raw footage to a ranked repair list

Upload the video your crews already capture. ClearVision reviews every foot of it, flags and classifies defects, scores each pipe to the grading system you use, and sends the spots that need judgment to your engineers.

Instead of coding footage frame by frame, your team reviews what the AI found and decides what to fix first.

  • Works with CCTV crawler, drone and other inspection video
  • Flags structural defects, root intrusion, inflow and infiltration, and debris
  • Scores to PACP-style codes or your own scale, like SAWS’s 1–5 grades approved by TCEQ and the EPA
  • Human QA in the loop, so results are checked before they reach your capital plan

San Antonio Water System

Consistent pipe scores across a 2-million-customer utility

SAWS, an industry leader in consent decree compliance, used to have trained staff review every inspection video by hand. ClearVision now scores pipe health automatically against the utility’s own grading system.

Along the way it surfaced inconsistencies between inspectors and conditions that manual review had missed.

  • Pipe grades within ±1 of SAWS’s scale at 95% confidence
  • Inspection capacity up and scoring standardized, in less than half the time of manual review
  • Inspectors freed from manual coding to focus on decisions

With this new system, we can quickly and accurately assess the condition of our wastewater pipelines, which will help us to proactively identify potential issues and avoid costly repairs down the line.

City of Fishers, Indiana

Half the review time, a third less cost

Fishers’ Water Quality team runs its storm and wastewater inspections through ClearVision. Results are grouped by structural defects, inflow and infiltration, root intrusion and debris, so the city can prioritize repairs and plan capital projects from data instead of guesswork.

Fishers also flew a drone through a stormwater line nearly 1,000 feet underground that crews had considered impossible to inspect, the first drone inspection of its kind in Indiana.

  • Video review and coding time cut by more than 50%
  • Inspection and QA costs down by nearly a third
  • Results sorted by project, so footage and inspection frequency are easy to track

ClearVision for Pipes questions

What inspection video does it work with?

Footage from CCTV crawlers, drones and other inspection methods. Crews keep capturing video the way they do today; ClearVision does the review.

Does it follow PACP?

ClearVision takes manual PACP-style coding off your inspectors’ plates, and it can score to a utility’s own scale. San Antonio Water System uses it with its 1–5 grading system, approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the EPA.

How fast is it?

ClearVision can review about 132,000 linear feet of pipeline video in 8 hours, work that can take more than 90 days with conventional review. Fishers cut its review and coding time by more than half.

Does AI replace our inspectors?

No. ClearVision does the frame-by-frame review and highlights what needs human judgment. A human QA step checks results, and your engineers spend their time on repair and capital decisions instead of coding footage.

Will it work with our asset management system?

Yes. ClearVision integrates with popular asset management systems, so findings flow into the tools your team already uses.
